MAK

Marine Agronomy for Kids (MAK) is a mentoring program that seeks to raise awareness among children from schools located in coastal areas of the Los Lagos region about marine science in general, and sustainable aquaculture in particular, using seaweeds as a model. It plans to introduce basic concepts of marine agronomy, marine farming and ecosystem services through educational activities based on games that contribute to the objectives of each institution's curriculum.

Currently, we are working in a first stage with the Escuela Rural Lenca, with whom we are developing the general guidelines of the program, the related activities, and their evaluation methods.
